I have mixed feelings about Terry Funk as Commissioner. As I'm sure you agree, his first act of giving Arn a leading role is a step in the right direction. Anything that gets Arn back on the mic is smart in my book.
However, I see a hard road ahead for Commissioner Funk. So how about this for a poll: Which of the following will be Commissioner Terry Funk’s most daunting/impossible task:
- To chart Bret "The Hitman" Clarke’s face/heel turns since joining WCW
- Helping Sid embrace a new "Luchadore" style of wrestling.
- Paying off Scott Hall’s bar tab.
- Finding a way to further weaken the tag team division.
- Inventing catchy t-shirt slogans like "Reality check" or "Yes, sir!"
Having read your page for almost three years, and enjoying it immensely, I have had no reason to write until now. (Actually, this isn't a good reason to write, but what the hell.Because I live in the Chicago area, I learned all about the "New Monday Night Wrestling Show called Nitro" from Chicago Bears television "expert" Steve McMichael. He told us all about the show and his involvement on Sunday nights during the Bears Season before Nitro started, so he is the reason that I started watching WCW in the first place.
Reading the "1999 WCW Win/Loss Records" on your site, I saw that Mongo has a perfect record in the year 1999, Singles, Tag Team, and Six-Man Tag, and wanted to know if anyone knows why this "talented" wrestler is not in any federation.
(Actually just wanted to show that even a blind squirrel can find a nut.)
S _ _ _ _ TAre you thinking what I was thinking?
Well, sorry, no such luck. The answer was "Skip It".
"Lane was stripped of the title for reasons never made clear by WCW; Psychosis, who had been scheduled to challenge for it, was then awarded the championship."Ironically, that's actually the truth!
