While I'm on the subject, I appreciate all the congratulatory e-mails that a number of you have sent me regarding this. Now, I know from the e-mail I've received over the last few months, and by looking at the webserver stats, that a number of you look forward to and enjoy these mid-week reports. However, this lame-ass "Notes from Bill" that I put out here every week ain't what won us the award.
So, if you want to congratulate someone, congratulate one or more of the writers for DDT Digest. In the case of Wade, Aldo, Jesse and The Cubs Fan, they're putting their lives on hold somewhere between two and five hours every week compiling a pre-show report, watching the show, and sending me results, for no pay whatsoever. And, as we know, sometimes watching WCW TV can be painful. As for Xavier Doom and Big Mike, they're up until midnight on a Sunday night, shelling out $30 (that's $2,000,000 Canadian dollars), covering PPVs, some of which are truly horrendous. Dan, Alex S., The Masked Historian and James B. labor in a quiet obscurity.
So, as much as I appreciate you thanking me, thank them. And don't necessarily wait for DDT Digest to win an award to do it.
On a very related note, our own Xavier Doom's Slayground won (not shared) the award for "Best Amateur Website, Humor". And there is no better compliment than having the guys at ScoopThis say you are a funny pro wrestling writer.
By the way, Xavier will be covering Bash at the Beach for us this weekend.
