WCW Worldwide - Saturday, 4/24/99
- One Year Ago On WorldWide: The Giant kills Glacier. Gedo shows up with Sonny Onoo and wins. Ultimo Dragon takes his student Shimma Nobunga to school. The Giant kills Glacier. High Voltage get a win against Bloom/Enos. Chris Adams and the Roadblock win squashes. Benoit and Jericho do interviews, about the TV and Crusierweight Titles, in that order. (Hey, if Benoit was supposely so good friends with Malenko, why didn't he go after Jericho when he was
talking smack about Deano?) The Giant kills Glacier, and I might have enjoyed it a bit.

- Gene referers to Arn as member an active particpant in the Four Horseman.
- Arn talks about how big WCW has gotten.

- Back to Nitro 4/12, when Nash decided he wanted mic time during the La Parka/Silver King vs Masters Blaster match.
- Back to the same show, DDP versus Scott Steiner
- Back to Nitro again, as Rey Mysterio takes on Juventud Guerrera
- Johnny Swinger vs Bobby Blaze
- Lockup, Swinger goes behind, Blaze does the same, Swinger hits an elbow.
- Swinger hits a shoulderblock, then another to knock Blaze down.
- Swinger off the ropes multiple times, but ends up running into a Blaze hiptoss, followed by a body slam.
- Swinger rolls out, Blaze follows, Swinger in
first and takes advanatge.
- Swinger hits a reverse russian legsweep, followed
by a belly to back for 2.
- Swinger beats him down in the corner, finishing
with a boot choke.
- Blaze mounts a comeback but gets his eye poked.
- Swinger with a snap mare, bottom rope springboard
legdrop, and into a chinlock.
- Swinger whip, head down to soon, hair slam, I
think.
- Blaze with a high knee, dropkick, tries a cross
corner whip, but gets reversed.
- Swinger comes up with a swinging neckbreaker, but
lifts Blaze up before the three count.
- Swinger goes for another, but Blaze reverses into
his Northern Lights Suplex finisher for an upset

don't get to say that much)
- Hmm...looks like they're actually paying
attention to book odd finishes on Worldwide. Now,
if they can build them to something, they may
actually have a compelling show.
- Villano V vs "Big (but not a golfer)" Barry
Darsow
- They mention that Barry Darsow has given up his
golfing career, more or less.
- Darsow choking early, Villano hits a dropkick,
but Darsow comes back with axhandles.
- Corner whip, Villano gets a boot up, misses top
rope clotheslne.
- Darsow gives Villano a Hotshot.
- Darsow with a snap mare
- Darsow tries to unmask Villano, but gets rolled
up for 2.
- Darsow comes back with a clothesline and follows
with chokeholds.
- Villano tries to punch his way back, but Darsow
with an eye poke and throws Villano outisde the
ring.
- Darsow sneaks up on him and punches him.
- Villano gets kicked on the way in, and a
backbreaker for a 2 count.
- Darsow with some more punches/chokes.
- Villano counters a whip with a nice floatover
reverse DDT, and follows with a buldog.
- 2nd rope senton splash misses, and Darsow hooks
on the Barely Legal

- Darsow "I'm going break everyone's
arm!"
- Mene Gene with DDP
- Hmm, world champ on Worldwide. Odd.
- DDP talks up the other three men and says that he
came ot on top.
- DDP says all the hard work that he's ever done paid
off.
- DDP says the other wrestlers were shocked that he
won (well, duh), but he was the people's champ, and
now he's the world champ.
