WCW Saturday Night - Saturday, May 11th, 1996
- WCW is lazy. Simple. How many times can Luger "miss" his title shot?
- He missed his first one last week on Saturday Night because of a charity event.
- Ok, that's fine, at least there is an excuse. However, two days later, he misses another one on Nitro, without an excuse?
- That's just lazy, and an underhanded attempt to get a bigger rating.
- If the fans knew that Duggan was getting a title shot, I doubt a lot of people would have continued to watch the show. Just a ridiculous way to go about things.
- Speaking of ridiculous. Just as you think the whole Sting/Luger drama is over, WCW brings it back.
- If Luger doesn't officially turn heel at Slamboree costing Sting the title, then something is seriously wrong with WCW.
- The storyline has run its course for Luger to be a face. He needs to be a full fledged heel. So just do it.
- So, tonight is Saturday Night, which over the past few weeks has officially became the B show for WCW programming.
- An awful lot of squash matches nowadays. Usually is this bad. But oh well.
- Time for a few cheap plugs, http://bigelow34.proboards99.com/index.cgi great forum.
- http://colling1989.proboards41.com/index.cgi? Wrestling recaps from a lot of promotions and independent promotions ranging from the eighties to present day.
- www.2cwwrestling.com a local wrestling promotion that is very, very entertaining. I suggest checking them out. If you live in the northeast area, their shows are really fun.
- Let's start the show!
- WCW Saturday Night Opening Video
- Footage from WCW Nitro where Flair nailed Giant with a wooden chair, to cheers.
- Sting attacking Giant's knee, seemingly helping Flair.
- Dusty and Tony welcome everyone and Tony quickly mentions Luger not showing up for his title shot.
- Tony says that Luger has said that if he gets another title shot, he will camp out in Tennessee.
- I'd bet he would still miss it, somehow.
- "Hard Work" Bobby Walker w/o heat Vs Lex Luger
- Nice to see Luger has managed to show up to face Bobby Flippin' Walker.
- I wonder if this will last past two minutes.
- Hilarious. Luger attacks Walker from behind and locks in the Torture Rack to win in no more than fifteen seconds.
- Apparently that was for the Television Title.
- I will pretend for the sake of the title, that it really wasn't.
- Your Winner: Lex Luger via submission
- Footage from after Nitro where Luger and Sting are still arguing.
- Gene is with them for some reason. Sting tells Luger he has never lost two title shots.
- Sting's argument doesn't really make sense.
- Sting tells Luger he wants Luger and Jimmy Hart handcuffed together at Slamboree.
- What the hell is the point of that?
- Luger wants another shot at WCW Nitro to face Giant.
- Commercials
- Tony is with Gary Juster. Tony mentions how Dallas Page is homeless.
- Juster mentions that Page's match at Uncensored was not for the WCW Television Title, and the contract stated if he didn't win the title he would quit.
- So, with the title not on the line, Page is back in WCW.
- A video of Page getting his hair cut by a very girly man.
- Page hits on the female hand massager.
- Page gets a makeover pretty much. He looks like the old DDP.
- Commercials
- Fire & Ice (Scott Norton/Ice Train) Vs Steiner Brothers
- Tony mentions that Luger and Giant has again been signed for Nitro.
- Scott with a nice suplex on Train early on. Train with a few clotheslines and a big splash.
- Belly-to-belly overhead suplex by Scott on Train.
- A botched clothesline/German suplex move by the Steiner Brothers.
- All four men are brawling in and out of the ring.
- Norton with a power bomb and clotheslines on Scott.
- Scott botches a Hot Shot type move.
- Scott with a German suplex on Norton on the floor.
- Both tag teams have been counted out.
- Your Winner: Double count out.

- Gene plugs his hotline and "two WWF wrestlers reportedly coming over to WCW"
- Eddie Guerrero Vs Earl Robert Eaton
- Guerrero with a hurricanrana, a dropkick and the frog splash to win the match.
- Fairly quick.
- Your Winner: Eddie Guerrero via pinfall
- Lord Steven Regal and Dave Taylor come out and are yelling at Eaton for losing the match.
- Footage of Shaq, Sugar Ray and Hulk Hogan at a charity event.
- Sugar Ray knocked Hogan out with one of the "world biggest boxing gloves". I wonder how much Hogan got for that job?
- Commercials
- Another "Blood Runs Cold" promo is shown.
- Footage from last week's Nitro.
- This week, Wallstreet/Flair, PE/Steiner's, Taylor/Benoit and Luger/Giant for the WCW World Title.
- Public Enemy Vs The Gambler/Steve Doll
- Rocco Rock with a somersault splash from the top onto Gambler to pick up the win.
- Simple squash.
- Your Winners: Public Enemy via pinfall
- Gene goes over the WCW Slamboree card.
- Nothing new, or important to report.
- Commercials
- Video package on Randy Savage and his crazy ways recently.
- Highlights Elizabeth's recent turn on Savage, and how she is aligned with Ric Flair.
- Commercials
- Sting Vs V.K. Wall Street
- Remember, VK is the former I.R.S in the WWF. Same gimmick, but not nearly as over as he once was.
- He also actually has music, something he never had (as a singles wrestler) in the WWF.
- VK with the offense early on with several right hands and chops both in and out of the ring.
- Sting comes back with a suplex from the apron into the ring.
- Sting ducks a kick from VK and locks in the Scorpion death lock to win the match
- Your Winner: Sting via submission
- Commercials
- Gene is backstage with Sting and Lex Luger.
- Sting is running out of excuses for what Luger did to Bobby Walker.
- Who the hell cares about Bobby Walker?
- Luger says that he apologized to Walker.
- Sting again brings up how Luger missed two chances in a row.
- Why is Sting angry? Luger has a title shot at Slamboree.
- Luger says he will be there. Sting again says that he will buy the tent and whatnot for Luger to camp out.
- End of show
- The Good: Steiners and Fire/Ice looked good together. If given time, I believe they could put on a really fun match.
- The Bad: The continued mentioning of Bobby Walker, as if he really matters.
- The Ugly: The jacket DDP got during his makeover. Talk about ridiculous.
